Here is an overview of some of the items you should think about gathering to prepare before the storm approaches:

you will need batteries of all sizes for radios and flashlights
coolers to keep your perishable items cool
don’t forget to trim all trees and shrubs surrounding your home
toilet paper and paper towels
plenty of water for all household members
non-perishable items such as peanut butter and canned foods
plenty of flashlights
insurance policies and other important documents
charge cell phones and other important electronics
paper plates and cups and cutlery
make sure you have plenty of cash in the event the ATMs lose power
fill vehicles and generators with gas
ice for coolers and ice chests
fill prescriptions
pet food, water & treats
hand sanitizer
