R. V. Johnson Insurance Participates in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

R.V. Johnson will be participating in a walk this weekend organized by Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. One of our very own employees, Beulah Douglas (below, center), has been affected by breast cancer. She was nice enough to share her story with us, and our office will be supporting her this weekend. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so spread the word and do your testing.

When you first hear the words “You have cancer” it feels like being on the receiving end of an upper cut in the boxing ring. Once you come around from the knock out punch and come back to your senses you realize very quickly you have a major decision to make. The options are quite simply: WIN OR LOSE!

I chose to WIN!

In order to win it is essential to have the right people in your corner. With the compassion and support of my doctors, nurses, co-workers, clients, family and friends I am winning!

I can assure you I did not choose it – it chose me. It certainly chose the wrong person!

Your support, whether walking for the cause, contributing financially or kind words of encouragement, is helping ALL of us who have been touched by this disease in some way and we all appreciate it.
