Our History

R.V. Johnson Insurance has roots to Stuart, Florida from the 1920's.  The Edward Mapp Insurance Agency was purchased in 1949 by R.V. “Bob” Johnson, and he later moved the office to Downtown Stuart.  Together with the help of his wife, Mary Chandler Johnson, Bob was able to focus on both Insurance and Real Estate.  Bob played an integral role in the development of the communities John’s Island in Vero Beach, Lighthouse Point in Palm City, Mariner Sands in Stuart, and Yacht and Country Club in Stuart.  Throughout the years, Bob made great partnerships with the local leaders, acquired the Dehon Agency, and continued to serve customers on the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches for both insurance and real estate.

After the passing of R.V. “Bob” Johnson in 1992, Robert C. “Rudy” Johnson became the President and CEO of the Agency.    R.V. Johnson Insurance purchased two long standing insurance companies in the community, the Reardon Agency and Hartman Tilton.  The focus of the office is now solely providing insurance and today R.V. Johnson Insurance is one of the largest, most stable providers of complete insurance coverage on the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches.  With 3 offices located in Stuart, Port Saint Lucie, and Tequesta and over 45 staff members, we are fully equipped to help you with all of your insurance needs.
