Flood Insurance
Flood Insurance damage is not covered by most Homeowners Insurance policies and you don’t need to live near water to be flooded. Floods are caused by storms, hurricanes, water backup due to inadequate or overloaded drainage systems, dam or levee failure, etc. You can protect your home and belongings with flood insurance purchased through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) up to $250,000 on the building and $100,000 for your contents. Higher limits of flood insurance coverage are available under an Excess Flood Insurance policy.
We highly recommend purchasing flood insurance for your home and condo, as it is relatively inexpensive compared to the coverage it provides. Your personal rate for Flood Insurance will be determined by a “flood zone determination” which places you in either a hazardous or preferred flood zone.
